Alumnus Shan Zhong studied materials science and engineering at UConn from 2003 to 2007 after graduating from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China. His Masters thesis was on “Phase Transformation Characteristics and Dielectric Response of Multilayer Ferroelectrics.”

Six faculty were recognized for excellence in graduate student advising and faculty peer mentorship. Outstanding Faculty Advisor Awards were presented to Drs. Pamir Alpay (MSE), Reda Ammar (CSE), Wei Sun (ME), and Shengli Zhou (ECE). Outstanding Faculty Mentoring Awards went to: Drs. Jun-Hong Cui (CSE) and Ranjan Srivastava (ChE).
