The FairHaven Scholarship at UConn Stamford
The FairHaven Scholarship at UConn Stamford is a highly competitive merit-based scholarship for students who will be majoring in Computer Science. FairHaven Scholars will receive up to $10,000 per academic year: scholarships are renewable for 4 consecutive academic years, and are valued at a fixed amount determined on a yearly basis.
FairHaven Scholars will have an opportunity to take advantage of the many technology-based internships in Fairfield County and New York City, while working closely with the campus’s Center for Career Development on skills such as resume and cover letter writing, interviewing skills, elevator pitches, and more. FairHaven Scholars will also have a chance to work with academic advisors and professional mentors who will help them to establish personal networks and discover paths to future success.
Eligibilty requirements for the FairHaven scholarship are as follows:
For incoming freshmen:
- Residence in Fairfield County or New Haven County
- Enrolled at UConn Stamford, majoring in Computer Science
- Minimum SAT of 1300
- Minimum high school GPA of 3.7
- Demonstrated leadership and entrepreneurial potential
For continuing undergraduate students:
- Residence in Fairfield County or New Haven County
- Enrolled at UConn Stamford, majoring in Computer Science
- Minimum GPA of 3.6
- Enrolled in no fewer than 12 credits
- Demonstrated leadership and entrepreneurial potential

- In your email (no more than 500 words, which you should treat as the cover letter to your application), please state your qualifications and the reasons why you believe you should be considered for the FairHaven Scholarship; and how this scholarship will impact your personal, educational, and professional goals.
Please make sure to include your official/legal first name, and date of birth, in this email letter, so we can confirm your application to UConn Stamford, your GPA and SAT scores, and your intended major, through our admissions systems. Without this information your application for the FairHaven Scholarship will be invalid.
